To All Parents of Memorial Elementary,  Welcome to Memorial Elementary After School Program. Our goal is to provide families with quality after school programming inclusive of supervision for children in grades PK-5 through a variety of activities designed to nurture a sense of respect for themselves, as well as their community.     

The staff who work with your children are HISD Employees and all Enrichment Classes are offered by HISD Approved Vendors.     

The After School Program consists of supervised activities offered until 6:00 PM daily, as well as Enrichment Classes offered by HISD Vendors. Students registered in daily Extended Day are also provided supervision on the HISD designated Early Dismissal Days from 11:30-6:00.   

Each day at the school’s dismissal, the program begins with registered students reporting to their assigned group leader (PK-K; 1st-2nd; 3rd-5th).  Snacks, which are provided by HISD, are distributed to each student. You are also welcomed to pack extra snacks for your child.   

3:30-5:30, note the schedule for all groups:

3:30-4:30 Enrichment Classes are scheduled for registered students

3:30-4:30 Students registered in After School with no enrichment classes are provided Homework Study Time.

4:30-5:30 Indoor/Outdoor Activites are planned.                            These activities may include Board Games, Arts & Crafts, Recess, organized Outdoor Games.

5:30-6:00 Students are gathered in the cafeteria for Story Time.   

Early Dismissal Time of 11:30-2:50: Organized activities are also set up by the staff.  These activities may include Story Time or a Guest Speaker or an Art Project or Outdoor Games lead by the Group Leaders.     

DROPPING A CLASS/REQUESTING A REFUND BY THE ADD/DROP DEADLINE OF(TBD) :  Please email us as soon as you find out you need to drop a class.  Our email address:  [email protected]. 

After this date, the Vendors will not release anyone from payment of the cost of the class.  Remember to include your child's name and grade level in your email. Memorial Elementary (After School Program) offers a variety of options and is managed by Sylvia Ponce de Leon, Director.

  NOTE:  Extended Day begins the 1st day of back to School, January 6, 2020

. Enrichment Classes begin (TBD) 

 If you enroll only in Enrichment Classes, please make arrangements to pick your children at the school's dismissal time of 2:50 during the 1st two weeks of school. There is ASP Supervision only if you are enrolled in Ext Day.

Options available to you are: 

Extended Day, Occasional Extended Day, Early Dismissal,Enrichment Only  Extended Day, staffed by HISD Employees, is available until 6:00 PM 

Occasional Extended Day (sold in increments of 5 Units) until 6:00 PM which are used, as needed.  Also, Homework is offered at no cost.   

Enrichment Classes (TBD) are also offered and are staffed by Instructors of Vendors approved by HISD who are professionals in their related field. 

Tuition and fees vary, depending on the type of class. Classes are generally grouped by age and/or skill.
