Since the early 1980’s the students of Glide School District and community members of Glide have benefited from the use of an all-weather track at the athletic complex. Unfortunately it is need of a complete renovation. The asphalt base has begun to crack to the degree that it needs to be replaced and then re-surfaced.
One of the several track meets hosted each year regularly draws 15 to 20 schools. The facility is used by Physical Education classes, the Elementary school, and community events such as Walk-For-Wells. As well, every morning and on weekends you will find many community members using the track for fitness.
The estimated cost of this project is $360,000.00. Although that seems like a daunting number, we believe we can reach that goal. Nearly half of the funds have been pledged but the key to success will be large grants. These grants will not be possible without showing community and individual support.
