2023 Summer High School Virtual Learning Registration and Payment - MPS Students

Welcome to the Midland Public Schools High School Summer Virtual Learning Program --

Location:

Course support will be available at the PATHS Learning Center, located at Midland High School (1301 Eastlawn Drive) and virtually.

Dates: June 5, 2023 - August 4, 2023

Class Times: Lab/office hours will be available once you have registered. 

If you have any questions regarding these courses, please contact your school counselor. 

Support will be provided by email, phone call or video chat. Being onsite is not required for daily work, quizzes or tests. However, exams must be monitored. Appointments will be made to facilitate the taking of exams. 

Students are expected to complete their courses by August 4, 2023.

Only one course enrollment will be accepted at a time. 

Cost

During the Summer, we offer courses in two formats based on the need for specialized content experts. The difference in cost is based on vendor pricing and the level of supports available.

EDG - Edgenuity: Each lesson is taught through video lectures by a content-certified instructor and utilizes web-based reinforcement, vocabulary, instructional examples, guided practice, and assessment.  Students also have the additional support of an eLearning facilitator. This is an experienced certified teacher who provides student motivation, encouragement and support in developing the skills needed to navigate through their coursework. 

EDGIS - Edgenuity Instructional Services:  All of the above, plus Edgenuity provides a content area certified teacher available by email, phone, or appointment to help students with content support. Also, a Concept Coach is provided; think expert tutor!!

All students are to follow MPS Student Code of Conduct and Acceptable Use Policies and a signed form must be on file prior to using MPS computers 

Students will only be contacted using their MPS issued email address! Any other email address entered above will not be utilized for summer school purposes unless student does not have an MPS email address. 

There are no refunds once a course has been started. 

Students are responsible for making the correct course choice. 

Payment is required to ensure enrollment. 

Online course credits count in a student’s G.P.A. 

All courses are to be completed by August 4, 2023. If you complete your first course prior to July 1, 2023, you may register and pay for a second course.
