2024 Summer Academic Program - Geometry REQUEST only

**THIS IS NOT FULL REGISTRATION FOR THE SUMMER GEOMETRY COURSE. Completion of this registration is a request to have your student's math performance reviewed to determine their eligibility for the summer Geometry course. Entrance into the course is based upon performance in the classroom, district assessements and standardized testing data. Upon review and acceptance to the course, you will be notified at the e-mail address provided to complete full payment and registration for the course. The student may only participate in the course upon receipt of payment.**

DATES:       June 17, 18, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27 and JULY 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18 (18 days total)

HOURS:      8:00am-11:30am

TARGET: Course Placement & acceleration opportunities for students entering grades 7-12

This course is at an accelerated pace for students who demonstrate advanced mathematics ability. The main emphasis is placed on applications of Geometry, the algebra skills needed for Geometry, and use of deductive reasoning in order to prove various geometric theorems.

Students can qualify for Honors Algebra 2 with a minimum score of 85% and the recommendation of the summer instructor.

PLEASE NOTE: Summer courses do not count in the student grade point average (GPA).


Students who meet the minimum course grade requirement can earn placement into the subsequent math course. Per Board regulation 213A, rising 9th graders will not earn high school credit by passing this course. However, they may count for academic placement.

Rising 10th-12th graders will earn one high school credit upon completing the course requirements. For credit to be awarded, students are expected to attend/make-up all sessions, work at an accelerated pace, complete assigned tasks, and obtain a course grade of 75% or better.

Changes to students’ schedules will be made upon course completion/grade submission.
