Please consider donating to bring a RAKU firing experience to Ceramic students!

We are excited to offer RAKU for Ceramic students in June.  Specialized clay, glazing, and firing are all part of this process, which combines Art and Chemistry! Students create pieces ahead of time and then in the firing process pieces are removed red hot and treated in one of three ways for results ranging from deep metallic colors, crackle finishes, and burning hair or feathers on the hot surfaces.

To offer this, we bring in Eric from Seattle Pottery Supply for the workshop, and it comes with a cost.  Fees have gone up to $750 for the firing/equipment/glazing, plus clay.
