"Eric Steven Pfisterer was a 2005 graduate of GMHS. Although born with spina bifida and therefore living with limited mobility, he was involved in many extracurriculars including water polo and Future Business Leaders of America. He then went to Villanova and later Kutztown University where he ultimately received his Master’s degree. He began giving back to the community by working at Berkshire Psychiatric and later became a teladoc therapist. His greatest passion was working with high school students that were looking to continue their education. Eric knew very well how hard it can be to excel while striving for a dream and persevering beyond the hardships of life.
The Eric Steven Pfisterer Memorial Award was created in memory of Eric by his very close family of friends (known colloquially as his “framily”). This $1000 scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior who has overcome some sort of hardship in their life by embodying the core tenants of “E.S.P.”: exceling, striving, and persevering."
