Any and all contributions are welcomed.   We're seeking funds to pay for supplies (jerseys, basketballs), sweatshirts, transportation to events, and for community events such as game/social nights and pizza parties.  Unified Sports  is a program through the Special Olympics. " Special Olympics is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. In Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability. That makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away." As a department, we strive to offer every opportunity for World Language students to not only acquire and learn about language but also to experience different cultures. We work hard to help bring the “international” to our IB World school and support students to graduate with an International Baccalaureate diploma. In order to have the resources we need to do our best work, we could use your help!  Subscriptions to the online resources like the News in Slow French/Spanish and Newsela are useful tools for teaching content (like history and current events) to our students in their target world language. Suggested Amount: $20 All donations are tax-deductible The Transit to Trails Club is a new student organization at Cleveland High School, formed with the goal of connecting Cleveland students with the outdoors via public transportation. We want all interested students to have the chance to visit some of the beautiful natural areas in Portland. Your  donation will help fund snacks and gear to help get students out exploring nature. We are hoping to build up a gear closet of items to loan out to students. We hope to build up to running 20+ trips per semester open to all students, while pursuing specific partnerships to lead trips for other student clubs, sports teams, and the Unified sports program.  Thank you for helping connect students to the outdoors!
