Bicycle Safety, Riding Skills and Basic Mechanics

This class will be held outside with social distancing guidelines observed.

If you are considering taking up cycling for recreation or for commuting, this program is a must! The class will introduce you to important measures that will enable you to enjoy recreational cycling while staying safe on the roads. Content will include bicycle selection, sizing, ride preparation (including clothing), safety gear, safety checks and traffic rules. Bike handling and accident avoidance techniques will be emphasized. On the last day, we will go through some drills outside. If time allows, discussions on protocols, the advantages of group riding and cycling resources for the novice will be covered. Please bring a chair to each class. You are encouraged to bring your bike, helmet, tools and riding gear to the final class. Limited to 15.
