So, you want to be a producer or become involved in some aspect of film, TV or theater production...here is your chance to learn the basics from a seasoned industry veteran. In this program, you will learn the foundational tools necessary to transform a script into an actual film (budgeting, logistical organization, roles and responsibilities of various personnel and more). We will also cover the rules/guidelines one needs to follow when hiring and utilizing the skills of others, and how to determine production costs.
You will gain an understanding of basic business practices for media creators of all genres and spectrums, and you will leave this course with the tools for managing productions and projects of all sizes and scopes. The familiarity you will gain with standard methods will be useful when seeking production work in the professional sphere, or when developing your own work. This class is an important first step toward launching your production career! Students will need Word and Excel software or Google Drive. Limited to 13.
